Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Updated:
In short: cbd.com.tr and its English edition cbd.school do not use advertising, retargeting or tracking cookies. They do not follow you on other sites, build a profile of you or share such information with anyone. That’s why we don’t show an "accept cookies" pop-up when you arrive: there is nothing we need to ask your consent for.

What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a site leaves in your browser. Sites use cookies for things like keeping you logged in; some sites use them to track visitors from site to site and show ads. Similar technologies, such as browser storage (localStorage) and tracking pixels, are subject to the same rules.
What is stored in your browser?
When you read the site, at most the following is stored in your browser. None of it is used to identify you, track you or show ads.
Name | What does it do? | When is it stored? | How long does it stay? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remembers that you closed the information banner. It contains nothing that identifies you and is not sent to our server. | When you press "OK" on the banner | Until you delete it |
| Protects the site from attacks and malicious automated traffic; tells whether you are a real visitor. | When Cloudflare’s security check is needed |
|
During an attack, our hosting service Vercel may also store a similar, short-lived security cookie. A session cookie is stored in the browsers of editors who log in to the admin panel; none is stored for readers.
Visit statistics
We count which pages are read with Vercel Web Analytics. This service does not use cookies and stores nothing in your browser. To tell apart visits on the same day, it generates a one-way hash from the request; this hash is not stored permanently and is deleted after 24 hours. We see only aggregate numbers such as page, country, device and browser type; we don’t know who you are. Details: Vercel Web Analytics privacy statement.
Cloudflare sits in front of the site for security and speed. Cloudflare also adds its own visit statistics script (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to the pages, which measures how fast pages load and how many times they are viewed. This script also does not use cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify you; we see only aggregate numbers such as page, country, browser type and load speed. Details: Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Content from other sites
The fonts, images and videos on our pages come from our own server. The site has no content, buttons or pixel code from other companies that set cookies, such as YouTube, Facebook, Google Analytics or ad networks. When you follow a link we give as a source to another site, that site’s own cookie rules apply.
How do you delete this data?
You can delete or block the data stored for cbd.com.tr or cbd.school in the "cookies and site data" section of your browser settings. You don’t need any of it to read the site. If you delete it, the information banner will appear once more; if you block Cloudflare cookies, you may see the security check more often.
Why don’t we ask for consent?
Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board’s Guidelines on Cookie Practices, explicit consent is required for non-essential cookies such as analytics, personalization and advertising cookies. Those that are essential for the site to run securely, or for a function you have requested, can be used without explicit consent. Everything listed on this page is of this kind.
How your data is processed is explained in the KVKK Data Protection Notice, and how to use your rights on the Your Rights and Security page.
Changes
If we add a new cookie or a similar technology, we will update this page first. If we ever need to add something non-essential (for example, embedding a YouTube video in an article), we will ask for your consent before using it. The date of the update is shown at the top of the page.
